Maxi-Dot Help

Featured Replies

Hi guys

is it possible to get the Maxi-Dot fitted after you have bought the car, just i didnt add it when i ordered it.

its a monte carlo if that makes any diffrence

thanks

Yes, it is possible and there have been a few threads in the past on this subject. Few dealers will do it and you will probably need to go to a specialist such as Shark performance. It'll cost at least £300, probably more. You'll get more info from other forumites soon, I'm sure!

Maxi-Dot fitment needs to change a control unit, re-coding etc...

Thanks a rang the dealer today and he didn't seem to have a clue, thanks for the quick response :)

If you can supply them with a new Maxidot unit, then ask them to follow the procedure for replacing a broken set of dials. I believe it is exactly the same procedure.

But as already stated, most dealers will not touch it. Have a look in the Octavia II forum and you'll find people who have had it swapped there and stories of dealers who will or won't touch the job. Shark is always a good starting point when Ben is back.

I think the immobilizer has to be recoded same goes for the keys. Not a simple job I think.

32KOFDATA is Correct on both counts and it is beyond the capabilities of VCDS.

But a willing dealer can do it following the procedures I mentioned.
