FL Octy rattle in drivers door - door seal

Featured Replies

Evening all,

Im sure ive read in one of the forums that the Octy has 'noisy' doors and issues with door seals.

Ive got a 2009 FL and took it out yesterday really for the first time after buying the thing on the motorway.

I noticed at speed theres a constant rattle inside the drivers door....anyone else experienced this? Im pretty sure its not had a new door skin so could be harness or cable tie catching somewhere?

Ive also got suspicions that the drivers door seal could be better, its not letting in water but i get a bit of wind noise which could be better...not sure what ive previously read or the symptoms but does anyone know?

My 2008 Scout has a rattle in the drivers door. I just learned to live with it, too much hassle stripping the door down to try and find it.

Might just be the door rubber seals creaking... mine did, I got some of this and it cured it instantly

I will try some of that as I definately have some 'creaking', its almost as though the car door is moving!

...although the other noise is definately "from within" so ill see if i can pop the door trim and have a look, I have some silent tape (its a special tape used in the automotive industry) which is felt based and cures most noises and rattles!

....ordered, will let you know how I get on, think its more the inner seal (door to car) than the window but will coat everything :giggle:
