Vag Com and Warranty..

Featured Replies

Hey guys.

I was just wondering that if I bought a Vag Com cable, purely for scanning for error codes (not changing anything) and found something. Would I be able to go into a dealer and tell them what I'd found, bearing in mind my car is under warranty. I don't want them to start getting upset saying it's voiding my warranty or anything.

No problem.

It's important that you don't delete any error codes. It won't void your warranty, but will make it more difficult for the dealer to fix any problem.

Cheers.

I've found an error code for one of the internal monitors for the alarm, and it seems as though SEAT have conveniently ignored it.

What is the error code?

01135 - Interior Monitor Sensor - I believe it's something to do with the alarm sensor in the car, and after googling it appears they're a common fault on VAG group cars.

Yeah I saw that. Car is still under warranty so they'll have to sort it.

So you guys are confident they won't have any issues with me scanning for my own error codes?

I was going to change something, but when I went to change it it said something about an uninitialised module and asked me if I wanted to use 12345/123/12345. I didn't change anything, but any ideas if the dealers would notice this?
