Blue smoke on Idle

Featured Replies

Got a bit of a dilemma here guys

My 2001 Octavia VRS produces sligh blue smoke when warm on idle sometimes but not when driving

The turbo boosts and pulls very healthily, the valve stem oil seals seem fine as it wont produce any smoke while driving and i recently replaced a split crank case breather pipe.

I know this topic may have been covered but would appreciate an experienced opinion

Cheers

Leave it to idle at least 2-3min and then push the throttle, if it`s starts to smoke then your valve seals are bad.

Are you losing much oil?

Haven't been driving the car much since i got it because i have just been tinkering with it replacing bits and pieces before i put it on the road at the end of may so i cant comment on oil consumption

Will test the valve stem oil seals and see how it goes.

Cheers
