new octavia estate

Featured Replies

Recently brought myself an octavia estate mk1. as a 54 plate it has above average mileage approaching 270k. on here as it does need some work so some good advice and maybe some spare parts would be great.

In need of a new bumper, new multichanger and owners manuals. although im advised the car was serviced every 10k miles have no service history prior to purchase.

Has just been in for full service including oil and filter, air filter, fuel filter, pollen filter, cam belt and water pump. any essential servicing im missed, let me know. also been mot'd although still had 6 months.

Welcome.

Brake fluid? Air con?

That's a hefty mileage for 7 1/2 yrs, some 36k a year!

Do you know what it was in its former life?

Not sure from new but know that some of its life was spent as a taxi.

I suspected. The prominent occupation of working octavias.

Still - these buggers are built to last.

Do you know if the fluid has been done?, if not its easy enough to do yourself.

Dunno what it is about taxi drivers, someone of sixth sense for good bullet proof motors.

In the 90s and early 00s it was the old peugeots first 405s then 406s and since it's the octavia.

Your motor at 270k, impressive, bet the oil,and filter changes were defo regular.

Steering, suspension interiormwillmbe shot but easily sorted.

Got to agree with Spinna. The vw diesel lumps are built to last. I came across an ex airport sharan that had 412k on it. It had full documented servicing every couple of months and it was still going strong. Good servicing and it will keep going.

Hi and welcome aboard.

On a recent trip to Brighton we were picked top by a Vectra taxi 07 plate over 300K miles

Engines do last if you look after them

Good luck with the motor and Welcome to Briskoda
