I have some issues with my skoda which has 55K on the clock. It is making a rattling noise when the car is first switched on and car moving. When the car warms up (which is a short time after the car is moving) the noise goes.

It seems to occur when it is cold or wet and I have been told when the oil warms up the noise goes.

Took it to a local garage (not a skoda dealer) and informed engine has a knock and misfiring and shocked to be told I would need a new engine.

For a serviced vehicle I am surprised.
