Hello, so lots of educated people on here

What do you think would be a decent price for this car :

2010 Skoda Octavia 1.8 tsi L and K. Manual with 13,000 miles on the clock

It's located in the UK so looking for a pound sterling value

  • Author

ok, but the car im asking about is a 1.8 tsi **PETROL**

The one in your link is a diesel

Whoa there! £15,995 is way over the odds for that! Maybe £11.5k on a good day

It will be a lovely machine whatever!

reason im asking is cause someone has offered me a 2010 Skoda Octavia 1.8 tsi L and K. Petrol. Manual with 13,000 miles on the clock for £9695

its not a private sale but a garage sale

is this price too good to be true ?

Not got my glasses on again whoops sorry , just saw 2.0l

That is a good price, check its not a cat C or finance outstanding.

£9695 does seem quite low for a Lauren and Klement, I'd get it carefully checked before committing anny money, but there are bargains to be had on larger petrol cars nowadays.

Parkers quote GBP11,270 for a 2010/10 plate on 20k miles so I'd guess around GBP11,500 for one at 13k miles. There is 1 on Autotrader but it's a DSG auto on a 59 plate. They want GBP11,480 and it's done just ove 11k miles.

Like I suppose I should be glad of the price snd keep my mouth shut, but I'm just suspicious on the other hand as to why it's do low

So what do yee think on the deal being offered.......is it too good to be true ?

Hey, what's " cat C " ?

might it be the catalytic converter thingie, full of expensive platinum or something

CAT C is an insurance write-off that has been repaired and is back on the road, the same goes for CAT D (less damage).

Not sure what it is with the petrol L&K.

A Skoda main dealer near me gets one in every so often and they are always priced very attractively...

But is this one too attractively priced ; )

Can a lot of things go wrong with the L and K models due to all the electrics, fancy gadgets etc

I know electrics in modern cars are a pain and maybe they tend to act up more due to all the gadgets...........electric folding mirrors, seats, front parking sensors, heated seats etc etc

That's the one alright.

L and K is supposedly the "top of the range" model and yet this L and K car is a lot cheaper than lower spec models of the same year/mileage. Oh I dunno, doesn't make sense

Agreed, I regularly browse Autotrader and eBay Motors, specifically Octavia's and as mentioned have noticed this on petrol L&K's before.

The difference being the one's I saw were from a Skoda main dealer (Benfield).

Thanks Silver1011

So the L and K petrol cars you seen in the past were definitely cheaper than an equivelant elegance and SE plus model

Not always cheaper but certainly on par, never understood why though.

I've spent many an hour looking at L&K's as I knew my next Octavia had to have xenon headlights and the L&K gets them as standard.

Unfortuantly when I was in a position to buy they all had the beige interior and were DSG.

This specific L and K im looking at is in some cases £2000 CHEAPER than an elegance or se plus of the same year and miles

He also has a 2012 diesel L&K that is well priced too...
