Sub and amp fitting?

Featured Replies

Iam in the middle of trying to fit my sub and amp to a swing radio and I have fitted the power cable from the battery and need to know we're to wire the remote wire for the amp, please help!

I took mine from the fuse box under the steering wheel, seems a bit far to go but I've already got a ignition 12v live set up from there so jumped on that. Other than that I'd say the ciggie lighter but it's a pain to get to that, or another one is the DRL switch, think its a blue wire that's a 12v live when the ignition is on (only on vRS I think tho)

Ye, my amp does have a high level import! How easy are the rear Door cards to take off?

Fabia 2 right?

Where you pull the door shut there is 2. Screws and one at the bottom of the door in clip window winder then seperate the card from the and lift up slightly ^_^

I joined into the cables that go to the rear door speaker but done it at the bottom of the B pillar lots of room to snip the cable then crimp your speaker cable in to extend to the amp, I should still have the cable colour wrote down, I'll post them here when I get home.

Ye mk2 fabia Vrs! Ok thanks

Sorry mate I can't find the bit of paper I wrote it down on, I know one was blue an white but can't recall the other.

But as mentioned above the door card is easy to remove, bottom screw. 2 in handle, behind the cover which just pulls off. If like me youve got windy windows remove the handle by pushing the door card in get you fingers behind the handle and push the collar in the opposite direction to the handle. Then just go round it starting at the bottom pulling it off the poppers till u get to then top pull the bottom out an push up and it will come off.

No, I'm from Manchester!

Shame you ain't closer i could have given a hand. Some amps don't require a remote if using high level inputs so try before you run a cable as may not be needed. If it does use a multi meter and test cables at back of hu. The aerial can usually be used. The 12v socket can't on these cars as its permanent live so sub will be on continuously. Its also easier to take feed from back of hu opposed to trying to get wires through the rubber grommit from the door to car.
