Which one!

Hi, i've got a 54 plate octy vrs and was thinking of changing it for a fabia vrs,

havent test drove one yet but would like to know how it goes compared to the octy. :)

can i ask what your reasons are for wanting to change?

I'd just test drive one personally :D

It all kinda depends on the way you drive. Main difference is getting used to changing gears at a totally different point, and I suppose feeding in the throttle rather than planting it. Brakes on the Octy are generally accepted to be better.

For the rest - your way of driving and so on makes the biggest diff beyond the size of the car and so on :D

Take all your stuff you like to keep in the car with you when you go for a test drive, the boot is small, so make sure you can fit your normal stuff in. I drove both before plumping for the Fabia, lower insurance, easy to remap and keep 45mpg. If they made the "Estate" version it would have been even better for my hobby, at the moment I'm limited by space in the boot.

Bootspace is significantly less than the Octy - this is based on seeing the boot of an Octy recently ;) I bought the boot-storage bag thing that goes under the shelf, it is handy to keep the headlight-converters, first aid kit and other stuff that you need for continental driving in, plus the maps for that ;)

Word of warning - don't waste your money like I did on the side-bags for the boot in the Furby. What a waste of money as they don't fit anything and you already get a storage bag when you purchase some oil from the dealer (well I did anyway) which fits beautfully :D

I done it the other way round and swaped a furby for an octy, they are both great cars. The furby is a lot cheaper to run (fuel cost / insurance) and tbh once remaped theres not much power difference between them below 100mph though the furby will have more in gear pulling power.

As said above if you have a lot of stuff to carry then you will miss the octy boot size, oh and you might find the furby a bit more rolly in the bends.

White seats are a bitch to keep clean, but then so is the carpet in the octy (swings and roundabouts)

You need to take a test drive and judge for yourself, its a tuff one.

Hope this helps.

Forgot to say, i hope your gona part ex the octy if you go the furby route. Have you seen the trouble people are having selling their octys, there have been a couple of nice ones in the for sale section, good prices but have been there a long time, its a bit worrying :thumbdwn:
