Mr Money (DT) - discount Yeti ?

Featured Replies

See that Mike Rutherford's column in today's Telegraph Motoring supplement is clearly implying (though not actually spelling it out) that VAT-free offers are available from Skoda on the Yeti. As far as I know, the Yeti was always excluded in the past from these offers. I suspect that this is motoring journalism adding 2+2 and getting 99 again - if there's still a long lead time on the Yeti, why would you discount it heavily? But it's definitely the implication of the piece. See:

Where do these journalists find this type of (mis) information??!!

28% off of a new Skoda, would be nice Mr Rutherford if we worked on those type of margins! The £8950 deal is for a limited period anyway and only on 3 selected colours, yes there is 25% off of the same car with the same spec but although he 'mentions' the VAT free deals (Suzuki, Skoda etc) he strangely doesn't state that these run throughout the Fabia range (except DSG and vRS) you don't pay any VAT anyway.

Typical journalist trying to fill some column space with what can only be described as utter drivvle.

He is right on 1 bit, but does not involve Skoda. You can buy a new Saab 9-3 for £23,000, yep, not a bad shout, but haven't Saab gone under??? A collectors item...... it's no Aston Martin.

Rant over :@

A misleading photograph.

You can get a (small) discount on the Yeti, but certainly nowhere near the cost of vat .

My point exactly Ian, I just went off on one.

Mr Rutherford is talking through his sit-upon orifice then!!

Very much so Graham.
