Problem with break-wear light

Featured Replies

My brake wear light keeps coming on, I have had the front pads checked and they are are only half worn, and break connector is secure, I had a problem with the reservoir cap so changed it still the same problem fluid level at max.

Start the car nothing, drive without touching breaks light come on without breaking or comes on after breaking.

The only thing I can think of is that there could be a wear wire sticking out of the front pad that has the wear indicator built in but I have started the car and nothing has shown then without moving the light comes on.

I have plugged in my vds and its only showing that the break wear indicator is lit.

Any further suggestions other than change the front pads

Had this on my wife's Merc shortly after having the pads changed, just needed the sensor wire repositioning apparently. Maybe your sensor wire isn't positioned quite right (On Mercs at least it is seperate to the pads).
