Poor Radio Reception

Featured Replies

Hi guys not sure if it's just the area I'm in but all my others cars have coped ok.

I almost always listen to Radio One and I can always hear a fuzzy background noise and crackles in some frequencies of songs that are being played. I'm pretty sure it's not a speaker, I'm quite acute to speakers buzzing.

I tried a search but nothing I'm looking for turned up but I'm sure I read it somewhere about poor reception.

Anyone help guys?

2007 hatchback with stream mp3 radio

I find my reception isnt always the greatest

Hold the menu button for 10 seconds until the screen changes. top left should show ANT ON or OFF bottom left should show STEREO / MONO.

If you have ANT OFF (aerial off) then the most likely cause is the booster in the base of the aerial is corroded.

Why would you want to listen to radio 1? It's utter carp.

Up hear in Nairn we only have a few choices, in order of preference radio one, radio two and moray firth radio, I could also get the likes of classical, radio four and stuff old people enjoy. I'm 25.

Thanks for the help however I don't understand why I have to justify my radio preference.

Hey Abarth im in Elgin, the radio signal was never great in our area in my car when i bought it, Once the digital cross over was done then the signal got even worse in my car.

My Stream MP3 has no problems with the FM reception well apart from the odd fade every now and again but on AM 90% of the frequencies are horrendous. Radio 5 for the sport one of the worse culprits.

I have pressed the menu button as recommended above and the antenna is ON and reporting signal GOOD on Radio 5 which it clearly isn't?

Any thoughts on what to do next?
