I'm new to the site. I currently drive a Mk4 Golf but I'm looking at buying an 02 plate Octavia VRS. Hopefully will pick up a few pointers and also theres a few parts on the car that need putting back to standard as not to my taste.

Former Golf Mk4 obsessive here, now driving a 2002 Octy VRS (remapped) and can honestly say I've not looked back.

Apart from the practical benefit of a huge boot (far more able to store the odd dead body in than the Golf was lol!), the VRS seems to have better handling overall (then again I always thought my Bora had better handling than the Golfs).

So go for it; sitting in the VRS 'cockpit' you'll be very familiar, most the switchgear is identical (but a much nicer gearknob in the VRS!).
