"Clicking" front door rubber seals

Featured Replies

A month into ownership and jolly impressed, but I've also just noticed that both front doors have a distinct "click" when opening.

Very quickly traced to the rubber seals at the very top of the A pillars. Each one has a small "extra" section of rubber seal at the top which flaps when the door is opened. They seem to be attached at their bottom but not at the top, hence the capacity to flap.

Any chance some kind forum members can check whether this is common on your Yetis? I always suspect these things are possibly an item missed from the PDI, but I didnt want to start tugging at them if they should remain in place.

Is it the end of the world? No, but it seems a bit of a silly design fault if they are indeed supposed to be there! :wonder:

Thanks

Just checked mine-no problem what so ever.I presume you mean the small 'tongue' right at the top of the A pillar?.Try some silicone spray around the door seals just to lube up the seals, even better try Autoglyms silicone free spray.

My drivers door seal clicked on opening, but it was at the top corner above the door handle.

It was loose and a firm push with my thumb relocated it.

Sorry for the lack of photo - yes I suppose that would've helped!

Leckman has the location spot on. I'll see what some silicone spray will do (or even try and persude the dealer to do it!).

My Yeti did exactly this but only on the passenger side (A pillar location). I tried massaging it into shape and silicon spray but it didnt really help. After a few months the noise has gone away by itself.
