Car in for MOT and have been advised that the rear 'sump gards' are 'loose'. I seen this for myself when the car was up the lift. The plastic piping as I best describe it falls down from the Bump stop?

If you're talking about what I think you're talking about, then you mean the plastic tubes that fit over your rear shock absorbers to stop them crudding up where the piston goes into the shock body? In which case, they're nothing to do with your sump :) they're also not covered by the MOT test as far as I know so it's up to you whether you get them changed or not. I'm guessing your bump stops have also torn, like mine have?

Maybe he ment rear shock, shocker or strut: gaurds?

This is what I'm meant. Ok, so bought the bump stops today and I'll not worry about those plastic tubes then.
