Stoned!

Featured Replies

Driving out of Gilfach Farm (nr Rhayader) yesterday the car seemed gutless, and I realised it wasn't revving beyond about 3,000 rpm. With all the recent auto disasters I've incurred, I immediately assumed the worst. The Yeti must be b*ggered.

Parked up and was about to look under the bonnet when I thought of something else. It's the first car I've driven with the accelerator on the floor, as opposed to a push in pedal like most cars.

A quick check and yes, a bl**dy pebble was trapped behind it! Removed the offending stone, hurled it away and all was well again.

So now I'm going to have to wipe my feet before getting in the car!:doh:

I have to say, driving it round the twisties of Wales was a real hoot. And it coped with a horrendous track (round Claerwan) admirably, albeit rather bouncy to be driving. I think the Americans used the same track for testing their lunar buggy...

If I'd been alone, I think I'd have been fine, but my Dad (73) was with me, and I was worried for his back! :D

Only took a couple of iPhone pics at a bridge about 1/2 mile down the track. At which point, I'd worked out that the birds I wanted to photo were unlikely to be around, so did a U-turn.

Been to Gigrin a few times - just wanted Dad to see the spectacle of it all... probably going back to the area tomorrow, to try again for a couple of species!
