I have a Superb Mk1 2.5 diesel. I had the normal starting problems where its difficult to start then a puff of white smoke appears. I got the Skoda dealer to changes all the glo-plugs and it worked fine for about 4-5 weeks, but recently the problem has returned and Im not sure why. Can it be the glo-plugs are gone again?

I have finally tracked it down to the coolant sensor thinking the engine was warm when it is cold. I think this is caused by the outside temperature fooling the sensor. The local Skoda garage wanted to reset my timing with a possibility that the pump needed replacing at £2000, the sensor cost £25 on ebay you can get them cheaper than this but I needed one yesterday. Worth checking if you have the same fault.

Welcome aboard. Would be better to only introduce urself here and then pose technical questions in the appropriate sections to also get answers ;-)
