New Skoda convert

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I have just joined the forum today and can already see some very interesting topics which should help toward my future plans on the Octavia.

In all seriousness I am a total car snob; cars are my passion and I previously owned a lightly modified Cooper S, which I sold due to running costs and now owning a flat etc. I bought the Octavia from a family member for a bargain, I needed a decent reliable car that wasnt too expensive to run and maintain, and something I could just jump in and drive (something I found I couldnt do with the MINI oddly). Never in a million years did I think I'd own a Skoda Octavia but got to say I'm enjoying it.

I will be looking to improve it; plans are coilovers, possibly 18's (think 19's will suit but might be too OTT?), KSO4 turbo, uprated intercooler, remap (anyone do custom maps in Herts/Essex?). Its been serviced without fail throughout its life but I would want to carry out a pelimary health check on the engine before carrying out any mods, just for safety sake.

I'm trying to acheive a smooth, low and fast euro style look. I'll have a look around on here but if anybody has any pictures of inspiration that would be good.

One query I have about the BOV; are they generally loud on the MK1's? Mine seems unusually loud, I like the sound of a BOV but am not sure if its due a replacement...

Thanks
