Painting 2.0 Fabia Calipers

Featured Replies

Ok.

I've had my 2.0 for 2 years now. When I first got the car, before it rolled out of the showroom I was thinking about getting the calipers red, since they would have been pretty clean then, and I wanted to get that look. However, the advice I got from my father was just to leave it as it was, because with any paint I use specially made for calipers, they would eventually blacken, and that only factory-painted calipers were the ones that last pretty much a bloody long time.

Are there good manufacturers for caliper paint that anyone in here could recommend I check out, or is my dad right? Because I've just thought about it again 2 years later and I'd like to paint them red.

Thanks.

Have used folia tec ..i think thats the name ...its a two pack system ie paint and hardener.... set about the calipers with a wire brush so they are nice and clean mix some of the paint and hard making stuff, and paint on ..need to leave the wheels of for a good few hours if doing drums, the time depends on the mix of paint and hardener you use also dont drive until completely dry too over night if poss...you can get this stuff from your local Halfrauds.... i did my mates megane coupe with it about 3years ago and they still look good but he is anal about washing his wheels ...takes them off every week to wash them inside !!!!

My m8 has painted his, took the wheels off and everything though. Ordered the caliper painting kit off the net I think.

Using "smooth green hammerite" for the best vRS style finish. Gonna do mine when I have a spare day, although not sure what they'll be like painting them with a brush, as opposed to removing and spraying them instead.
