Fabia vRS keeps losing power when accelerating

Featured Replies

Hi. I've had my Fabia vRS 2007 for a week now and I love it. But, I keep losing power when accelerating and I am also getting the Exhaust Emmisions light showing on the dash. It was coming on and then going off again after I drove without accelerating hard, but now it's on all the time and I'm losing power even when accelerating reasonably gently. As the Skoda garage gave the car a full service before I bought it a week ago, I'm assuming it's not something serious, but perhaps a sensor fault or soot as the car may not have been driven very hard by the previous owner.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

check the pipes from the vacuum block drivers side top of wing to turbo, if the pipe is split you will not get full boost and the engine goes to limp home until you stop and start the engine

also check for the turbo vacuum actuator is moving, or the variable vanes will not move and you will get over or under boost, causing the engine to drop into limp home

could also be the MAF sensor dirty or faulty

get it scanned for logged fault codes to start to pin it down

Thanks bluecar1. I will get it scanned shortly and feedback. :)

Issue was caused by a lose pipe. 'vock pipe off' was what was written on the inspection sheet. Not sure if i'm reading this correctly. Anyway, works like a dream now and I seem to have more power now, than when it wasn't in limp mode before :D
