Brakes

Featured Replies

Hi

Iv just changed all my disc and pads on my vrs, after a test run found 1 hub hot and the pedal is a bit spungey can you advise anything I can do?

Cheers

it will take a few hundred miles for the pads and discs to bed in !!!

if still spongy then i would bleed the system

Also I have changed a brake caliper I have blead the system, why would the hub be hot and the other side warm?

how did you bleed the brakes ?? why change the caliper?? you sure the calipers not getting stuck on ???

give us a few more details of all you did to the car and why please

Yeah, one hub hot sounds suspiciously like stuck on calipers.

Hi

What it was I changed all my discs and pads due to high speed shaking when braking, I changed the front wheel caliper due to it being seized and piston wouldn't push in, I wound the back 2 in before I put the pads on the back brakes, I blead the system with a self bleed kit and a second person pressing Pedal

Thanks

And the one you changed - is that the one getting hot?

No I changed the one at te front right and the rear left is getting hot

Then it must definitely be binding on...

...I'm not far from you, could always pop over and we could take a good look if needs be.

Yeah if you can spare the time mate it would be good

Would also be worth bleeding the brakes properly using a pressure bleeder, sounds like you used the pedal method which is not a good idea and can cause loads of problems on an octy including master cylinder failure.
