Help, strange smell!

Featured Replies

Strange one here but over the last couple of days I have noticed a strange smell coming through the climate control when it first starts! It's a kind of damp musty/stale urine smell. It only last a minute or so then disappears.

Anyone have an idea of what might be causing this??

Cheers

I also have this problem.

I changed the pollen filter and it seemed to go for about 2 weeks but now it's back.

Going to check all drain holes in scuttle area incase its water getting in where it shouldn't.

Get a can of aircon sanitizer and run it through climate system, should help with the smell

Silly question but how do you run it through the system?

Check make sure the drain for the evaporator isn't blocked. If you look behind the dash in the passenger footwell, there's a pipe going through to the engine bay. If you look in the bay, there's a metal flap in the heatshield at the back and it comes out here. Prod something up there and make sure it's clear.
