P1297 (17705)

Featured Replies

I have scanned my car with vcds, and it gives me P1297 (17705), any suggestions on how to troubleshoot.... and are Diverter Valve the same thing as a dump valve?

Possible Causes

  • Leaking Hoses and/or Pipes between Components
  • Boost Pressure Control Valve (N249) faulty
  • Diverter Valve faulty
  • Throttle Body dirty

Possible Solutions

  • Check Hoses and Pipes between Components
  • Check / Replace Boost Pressure Control Valve (N249)
  • Check / Replace Diverter Valve
  • Check / Clean Throttle Body
    • Perform Throttle Body Alignment

More than likely find its a split hose just under the manifold

Could be a few causes, but as Jase said, a big culprit could be a split hose somewhere.

It basically means that air is getting lost somewhere between the turbo and the inlet manifold. It could be a pipe somewhere, or even the dv which has a split diaphragm.

And yes, diverter valve is the same as dump valve - Sort of. A dump valve releases boost to atmosphere while a diverter valve recirculates it back into the intake pipework.

Thank you very much for your answers!

I will check my hoses. I sometimes read about N75 and N249 what are the functions of these.

Is it correct that N75 is some type of wastegate?

In a way. The N75 is an electronic valve that controls the turbo wastegate. The ECU uses it to control the boost pressure.

Found leaking part no: 058 133 753 B under the maifold this evening, ordering new tomorrow, hoping it will resolve the problem. Last few days I also lost my brake-servo. hope it is the 058 133 753 B because it branches to the brake servo.
