60000 Service on vRs

Featured Replies

My Octy vRS is fast approaching its 60,000 mile service but was wondering if the Cam belt/water pump should be changed as well.

According to my local Skoda dealer, my particular engine number should not have the belt done until 120,000 miles which seems a bit excessive?

I'm taking the car to JBS as they are cheaper than the mainstream dealers, but after reading other forums on here regarding the cam belt, and the 120,000 mile quote from Skoda I just want to know what are the recommendations to be done?

on the safe side do it... a few hundred spent now could potencially save thousands later... i resently had mine done knowing the background of the car it did a lot of motorway driving up to 50K when i brought it i have not extacly been or am gentle with it so thought it wasn't worth the risk....and had it done...

For peace of mind, it's best to get it done at 60k, than have it fail at 80k ;)

I agree about 60K. A new water pump is circa

It's not 120K miles, but 120K km... not quite the same distance. Mine was changed at 70K miles.

Nope. It's 180,000 km (only for the 1.8-ltr petrol engines). See the Skoda Octavia Service Schedule - What service entails.

I sit corrected...
