Front parking sensor plug pin diagram?

Featured Replies

I'm really not sure where to post this, but here seemed reasonably appropriate.

I'm in the process of fitting front and rear parking sensors to my Octavia Mk 2 estate. All has been going well: PDC works as does OPS.

When the front sensors are plugged in...

However, it might be a while before I can fit the front sensors to the car and would like to make use of the rears if I can.

If I put the vehicle into reverse I get a continuous beep indicating a problem (the front sensors not connected). A scan with VCDS shows an 'Open Circuit Fault' (the front sensors not connected).

Is there a way either with VCDS or with a temporary modification to the plug that I could do to fool the controller into thinking the front sensors are plugged in and allow the rear sensors to work?

Does anyone have access to the wiring diagrams for the PDC system (specifically the front sensor plug)?

As anyone got access to the wiring diagrams or can give details of the pin allocation on the plug / connector for the front parking sensors?

I think there is a way if I know which pin does what.

4 wires are returns from each sensor, one must provide power and I guess one is an earth.

But which ones?

Any auto electricians out there who might be able to tell me how to find out with a multi-meter?

Please?

If this weather keeps up, I can't see me fitting the fronts until sometime on 2013! And it would be nice to be able to at least use the rears.
