Jason's 16" wheel refurb thread

Featured Replies

Not the best start as today all I did was attack one wheel with a velcro sanding pad on my D.A, then on the tougher places, attacked with my Draper "dremel" tool with a sanding attachment.

No photos either yet.... But this is how one wheel looks. Probably not going to bother with the inside edges. Not sure on colour either. Tempted to just use a silver alloy paint, but also tempted by a couple of cans of spare paint in the shed. I have some cherry red, and some peugeot white, as well as a selection of vRS fabia colours....

I am only doing two as they will be Santa Pod drag wheels only. Therefore I am also not too fussed on quality. Will be sanded down as best I can, primed, rubbed down a bit perhaps, 2 coats paint, 2 coats clear, job done.

The wheel I attacked today was in much worse condition than this one below.
