New member needs advice

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

First posting so apologies if this is the wrong place!

I've been struggling with a heater fan problem, where the fan only works on setting 4.

I've found some excellent advice on this forum about changing the resistor, and have managed to remove the part.

However the resistor is in appalling condition (very rusty, looks like its been under water!) and when it failed it got so hot that it melted the four pin connector into itself. I've managed to remove the connector but it' so badly damaged it can't be re-used to fit the new resistor.

Does anyone have any advice on where I could purchase a new one?

The part number is 1JO-972-754, a quick google hasn't turned anything useful up.

Thanks

Welcome.

You should use this area for introducing yourself and then post your query in the relevant section but nevermind.

I found reference to the part here http://www.pim-engin...t/4%20pin-3.pdf

Personally I would try and get one off a scrapped car, if possible, but you should be able to buy one from any vw group stealer. I just noticed a price in germany of 1 euro - so it should be quite cheap. Where are you located?

Ah...I didn't realise this either. Sorry if I've boobed. I will look further down the list of topics in future.
