Diesel vRS on ebay - potential buy?

Featured Replies

Hi guys, some of you may have read my other thread regarding there being no vRS buyers guide and I seemed to have gone off on a tangent in that slightly, I have seen a vRS I may potentially buy. See below:

Registered June 07

Serviced at Barkers Grimsby at 21135 miles (02/08) and 40349 miles (09/08)

Serviced at 59593 miles (05/09) incl brake fluid and cambelt kit by VAG dealer (not sure which one)

Serviced at 76790 miles (12/09) by VAG dealer (not sure which one)

MOT at 85099 miles (06/10)

JBS DPF delete pipe fitted with custom code at 86460 miles (08/10)

Now this is the bit that stuck out to me:

Failed MOT at 94130 miles (28/06/11) on

Exhaust emits an excessive level of metered smoke for a turbo charged engine (7.4.B.3b)

Flexi pipe Exhaust has a major leak of exhaust gases (7.1.2)

Advisories included front discs are corroded and worn

Then a day and 21 miles later the car passes MOT with no advisories at a different MOT station. What do people think?

Serviced at Lookers VW Lincoln 96096 miles (08/11)

Injector recall carried out (04/12) at Sherlodge Garage Skoda, however the only proof of this is a handwritten repair receipt stating 'Carried out recall 23J7'. Owner states the loom was also replaced. Is there anyway for me to check that the loom has been replaced and does 23J7 correlate to the injector recall?

MOT at 101960 miles (05/12)

Car is located in Kent but owner is travelling up to JBS in Chesterfield to have the DPF custom code redone as JBS said the injector recall would have deleted it. So I will be meeting him later today as Chesterfield is a hell of a lot closer than Kent, any tips on what to look out for?

Last thing is the service book has not been stamped at the last 3 services, would it be easy enough to get the dealers to stamp the book (invoices are present).

Thanks for any help in advance.

It is indeed the car from said thread.

If that is saying it failed on a smoke test, I expect they warmed the engine up and gave it a good blast then remot'd it the next day.
