Featured Replies

Yep they'll go on :)

Ok thanks guys. Any words of warning before I go ahead and purchase them?

Fitting them yourself?

I will be the assistant to someone who has done it many times before so no problems there. Positive I don't need new pads and discs, but would you recommend uprating the pads whilst at it? I read all the pipes fit so no worries there.

Have you already got the 312 discs and pads to suit then?

As that listing states:

this listing is for the calipers and carrriers only, no discs and pads are included

No I don't have discs, didn't actually realise you had to get bigger discs if I'm honest! So I would need new discs too then? I've probably read 100 odd threads and not even picked up on the fact I need bigger discs. Noob to.performance upgrades.

Yup. Carriers, calipers, pads and discs.

Also take into account to make sure your wheels fit as well... But I should think they will do unless you're running 15s.

Also you'll need to pick up brake fluid and a pressure bleeder if you don't already have 'em.

Right okay. I'll get on that shortly, but for now those calipers and carriers are fine yep?

Yeah man.

It's 250 for calipers carrier pad and discs on eBay tho so that something to consider.

Yeah I was just thinking getting in bulk would be cheaper. Is that from the gbautomotive guy that everyone on here swears by?

Yeah mate. Good recon parts in colour you want including pads and discs

When my fronts need changing il go for the 312mm from gbautomotive I think!

These the ones hux?

210 without colour:

And in the other threads i've seen people suggest this isn't the same green as the fabia calipers, pistone green if I recall: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-AUDI-312mm-calipers-discs-and-pads-MK4-GOLF-TT-S3-GREEN-/280878280766?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4165a6703e#ht_695wt_1163 or if you ask does he coat them in a colour you want?

The green is slightly different yes but nothing stopping you from matching the backs up :) they are the ones.

Might be best getting them plain for 210 and try blag some smooth green off here

Brilliant, and i'll keep an eye out for the smooth green, but my friend is a sprayer so reckon he might have some.

Thanks for the help!

I've just this morning recevied my red 312mm setup. When I contacted them they informed me that they used brembo discs and pads however these have come shipped with EBC branded black pads and discs. Not really bothered and the colour finish matches perfectly with the red I already have on my SE vRS. I've yet to fit them but the calipers look like new.

Right, ordered them, got some paint mixed up today too, looks pretty similar, but will probably paint the rears too, give them a spruce.

Thanks for the help and direction all.

Does Hammerite smooth go on the calipers without any heat issues? ie, cracking or fading?

D
