Anybody used alltech garage services for a remap?

Featured Replies

Basically my bro is looking for a new car and likes the Skoda Octavia VRS estate mk1. We have found a vehicle he is interested in and the car has a remap on it from ##!!## garage services, which I believe is a Angel tuning outlet.

Can anybody give me there experiences of there maps are they any good?

And also any other pointers to look out for as it's the estate version?

Much appreciated for any feedback.

Anybody got any info or views? As we may be going to look at the vehicle tommorrow evening. Iv tried google searching and not a lot came up.

I know I'm not a familiar name in this section, I usually lurk in the mk1 Fabia section lol.

Drive the car a LOT before signing anything or parting with money, as a number of Mk1 Octavia VRS's exhibit awful boost stutter and surging after a remap. A remap by a VAG specialist tuner like R-Tech or Shark can normally avoid this problem by carefully mapping, but I am not sure about Angel remaps.

Drive the car progressively up through the revs in each gear: boost should come on smoothly and progressively, if it seems to stutter and surge and feels like boost is either on or off (with little in between) walk away.

Cheers for your reply, we went to look at the car and didn't even bother with a test drive as the rear tailgate was rusty where the rear window sits to the bottom of the tailgate, there is a small channel for the water to sit in and rust. My old mk3 Ibiza Cupra suffered a little from this poor design.

Also the car had a misted up passenger side front headlamp and with further looking a poor respray, so it's had a little bump.

We walked away from the car, kind of annoying the bloke on the phone saying it's mint. My arse lol. Search continues.

The rust there is caused by the glass being in the wrong place. Skoda will fix it under warranty, if the car is within the 7 (or 10) years old, iirc.

Could have been worth a drive anyway - clock up some experience of an Angel remap incase you come across another one....
