Esp fault warranty?

Featured Replies

Hey all,

Since i got my vrs last july the cars been superb except since august last year when my esp light came on.

I work for audi so know its a common fault however even tho my car has skoda history apparently this is NOT warranty and they want to charge me for replacement of the abs unit rather than the audi vw repair kit.

Does anyone know where i stand?

Should be covered,

If not, get the repair kit from work and buy one of your service bods a few beers at the weekend.

I had this fault on my 2008 Octavia Scout one month before the warranty ran out.

It was fixed under warranty - no questions asked.

My mate also had this recently on his 2008 VW Touran. Out of warranty, not bought from the VW network and it didn't have a full VW service history. VW offered a 'substantial' gesture of goodwill to the cost of the fix.

Which dealer is telling you it is not covered by warranty? They are wrong. It is a proven manufacturing defect.

Ring Skoda customer services on 08457 745745 and have a moan...

I had this last year and was just a few weeks out of warranty, dealer wanted to charge me £800.00,i got on to skoda uk,and after a bit of nagging then writing a letter to the head of customer services,i got replaced 100% cost to skoda uk..

How old is the car..

  • 2 weeks later...

the light has been on in my car for about 2 weeks and the garage diagnosed it today £1,865!!! plus diagnostic fee of £145 so far no good will from skoda despite it being less than 41k miles and an 08 plate scout. Very angry about it so far. thanks for tips and numbers for rant to skoda uk. guess what i'll be doing tomorrow morning now... thanks again.

I had this repair done on my Scout this year (car is 07 so out of warranty) Skoda UK paid 100% after myself and the dealer contacted them. Its a known fault with the ABS pump and really should have been a recall. Press for at least 100% parts and discount on fitting cost!
