Right this is my problem ive been told thats my octavia vrs cupholder shouldnt be spring loaded but when i bought it, it had an original cupholder that if you press it springs up, can onyone shed light on this its a mk1 octavia vrs

if it wasnt sprung you wouldnt be able to use it, but is a daft position. fit a twin cup holder in the centre console far more practical

Beware of the generic ones though, as they are sh!te, quite frankly. Polo/Lupo cupholders for the win. And not too expensive either.
