Front door handle

Featured Replies

Im having trouble opening my front door from the outside . Ive got to pull at the handle afew times to open in works only when its fully stretched if you know what i mean . It opens prefectly fine from the inside . Now is the handle on itw way out or does something from inside the door need adjusting ?

Had similar problem after I changed the door on my old Octavia. If you open the handle fully and look at the end where the barrel is you should se a plastic block get it a little screwdriver behind it and give it a little push (towards the outside of the car) make sure that the plastic only moves forward one notch at a time. If you go to far you will not be able to open the door but hopefully the handle will still move some so that you can get to the block to push it back.

Just looked at what I typed dosnt make sence :wall:

Ultimatly the block in the door handle is connected to the mech to much slack and there's not enough pull to fully disengage the latch to much tension and you cant release the latch.

I just remebered i posted this . Just had a look at what you mean and i can see it . Unfortanly i cant get nothing in to adjust the plastic block . Looks like i might have to take the barrel of and push it that way . Looks like ill have to wipe the dust of the good old haynes manual to see how easy it is to take the barrel out .

Cheers mate
