Chip Paint

Featured Replies

Noticed at the weekend ive got quite a few stone chips on the car and some along the sides of the car which i assume is coming from the front tyres so ive decided to get some mud flaps. Anyway do Skoda do touch up sticks? or can i even get the right colour from halfords? skoda dealer is a bit far away thats all.

I seem to remember someone asking this before and I think the outcome was yes they do touch up paints but were pretty expensive.

I too have suffered from the many chips on the bonnet. Whenever I've tried touch up paints in the past I always make a bo****cks of it - Probably because I'm not patient enough.

Anyway, what I did instead was use the Turtle Wax hard wax chip stick (looks like a lipstick) you can get them out Halfords usually coming with a big bottle of colour coded really poor wax polish.

I chucked the bottle of polish away but rubbed the chip stick into the chips, and left until the next weekend when I polished the excess away. Its come out really well, you can only see the bigger ones if you really look hard.

Its not a permanent solution but it can be easily reapplied every six months or so.
