1999 Felicia 1.3L Non Power Steering alternator needed?

Featured Replies

Hi guys. The other day i was driving in my felicia when i heard a humming noise coming from the engine. When i stopped and turned off the ignition the battery light came on, and stayed on until i started the car again. This happened a couple of times until it was left for several hours and when i came to start it, it was totally dead. I managed to bump start it to get it home but on the way the radio and wipers were struggling and eventually stopped, so battery doesn't seem to be charging. As i said, i believe i may need a new alternator, my problem is i'm not sure which is the correct one. Having looked on the net and after phoning skoda i'm still not sure. There seems to be several alternators used with the 1.3 engines, but i need the correct one for the 1.3L non power steering version. Any help is much appreciated.

don't throw parts at car until you have enough evidence.

in this stage, where to buy an alternator from is your last worry.

all might be coming down to worn carbon brushes or loose belt.

hiya wonder. -had the same problem with my alternator, got away with a new regulator - 3 minute fix, as it's only held in with two screws- its certainly worth trying first, those alternators can be pricey- best of luck!
