Average MPG 2003 Octavia PD130 Elegance

Featured Replies

Just done my first full to empty top up. I waited until the fuel light came on and topped it up and calculated the mpg.

46.68 litres for 530.8 miles. This works out at 51.69mpg. That was with a mix of town, motorway and slow moving, congested motorway driving (20 minutes of stop/start traffic jam every night on way home from work). 70/80mph on motorway and 30mph max in town (lots of traffic lights and roundabouts)

Woked out it should have a range of 625 miles per tank at this mpg.

Very happy with this as I used a Mitsubishi Delica to get to work before I bought this (23mpg)

I converted the flywheel to single mass when I bought it (530 miles ago) and I can report that there are no problems. There is no excess vibration and no extra noise (dual mass sounded terrible when cold).

Single mass Valeo Flywheel conversion

Nice one!

I did the SMF conversion when I got my 130 too. Improved pickup, although I had a weird vibration under full acceleration between 2,000 and 3,000rpm... went in about 1500 miles.

Impressive mpg... I'm clearly not doing my job properly... although I'm on for 47mpg from this tank! :D

The Delica... 23mpg? o_0

I had a couple of 56mpg tanks and one 59mpg tank when I had my pd130 octavia elegance but over 21k in 1yr I averaged 50.8mpg

Last year I drove to Italy in the Delica (2680 mile round trip) and it cost £600 in diesel. Ulp!!! I'm going in the Octavia in September so I should be able to see how it does on a long journey.
