dash trim

Featured Replies

What product do you recommend for black dashboard trim cleaning? I want it to look "new" black again but NOT shiny.

Never seen the need for these products. I just dust it with a dry microfibre now and then and it looks as new.

Dust as above or with a damp microfiber. If bits need cleaning just use a good apc (all purpose cleaner) that can be diluted to suit. Apc on leather too once in a while keeps the factory matt look.

I just use microfibre cloth too and the dash still looks good as new.

Just did as advised, and am happy with the result - no bottled gunk needed, just damp cloth. I'm surprised!

Plastics need UV protection and nourishing occasionally.

Not in England - UV = Sunlight, we don't get enough to worry about :giggle:

The dash on the Octavia seems to be more rubbery than plastic?

+1 for a damp cloth though, no need for chemicals.

Does screen not have uv filtering? Most manufacturers do this now.

I like AG rubber and vinyl care. Can do matt or shiny depending on how you apply it.

Another one for a damp microfibre cloth, I was really surprised the first time I did this on mine, it really is all that is required!

I use poorboys new look dressing. Does the plastics, as well as the leather and the plastic leather, plus the seals etc.

Leaves a nice matt finish.

i use maxolen blue star a-z, i dont use much on the dash just a mist, but its great for around the doors and under the bonnet too :)

5% mix apc and microfibre for me

What exactly is meant by an all purpose cleaner? Is that something like CIF ?

Hell no! :)

Something like Meguiars All Purpose Cleaner..

Or Stardrops, Daisy, or Flash to name but a few.

Oh well, we practically live at Tescos, I'll look out for it.
