Bolero Artist/Track listing

Featured Replies

My Bolero doesn't display any information about the cd's I've loaded, no artist or track information. I've checked that the Hide artist/track name isn't ticked and I've tried restoring it to factory settings but no luck. Any suggestions?

I maybe wrong but I think if playing a normal music CD, tracks and artist names are not shown. They only show when playing MP3 CD's or music via Aux or SD card.

Not neccesarily true, a lot depends on whether the original CD had the relevant info included on it.

Applies to both playing CD's and those transferred to an SD card.

I think the Bolero supports CD-Text, so it should work for CDs which have that information on them.

For CDs ripped to SD card (or even to an MP3 CD) the ripping software will often pick up the artists & track info from Gracenote as it's ripping the CD (iTunes certainly does), so in that case the original CD doesn't have to have the information on it for the Bolero to be able to display it when it's playing the MP3 rip.

But if you're playing an original CD, and that CD doesn't have CD-Text information on it then there's nothing for the Bolero to display.

I have some standard bought-from-a-shop CDs that do display track information on my Bolero without me having changed any settings. Older CDs, or any new CD without this information on the track just says Track 1, 2 etc. As stated it is only these CDs with the infor and MP3 CDs that show track names.

Equally, I have some albums on a SD card and most just show the file name (eg 02 Birdie_Song.mp3) but at least one album shows full track, artist and album name. All ripped to iTunes from CDs on the same PC over the same period of time and all of these have the appropriate info in their iTunes entries (incl album artwork).
