Big thankyou to eveyone who helped me out over the years but im moving over to the mk2 superb forum having aquired a nice 170bhp elegance DSG.

Of course they are two different beasts but with a second child on the way my racing days are over!

If you see my old car up for sale, mk1 black magic (KU05 YSF) it is indeed a good one and did me well for six years. I will miss her.

You won't be dissapointed with the superb,have motd a few now,the garage I work for we do all the local skoda garages mots,they seem to be very well built and finished,will probably be my next car,had my octy vrs just over 5 years,the leg room in the back of the new superb is fantastic,not that I would be in the back anyway,if I were to get one it would be a 1.8 tsi,being in the motor trade see too many diesels with big repair bills.

Interesting, what sort of problems have you seen? DPF related? It was a difficult decision to choose between the 1.8 tsi & 2.0 tdi but horror stories of the DSG7 going wrong put me off the petrol.

Yeah we see dpf faults,but see a lot of fuel pumps and injectors going,usually down to the fuel pump breaking up and you get tiny metal filings which eventually get into the injectors,but some are never affected,its just your luck.

Is that the PD engine or CR? Neil.
