A3 coilys on occy vrs mk1 help!

Featured Replies

They came without top mounts so i put mine on, but on the front the plate that the spring sits up to is too small. Do i need the 1 off the A3? If i do whats the propper name for the part so i can search for it?

Cheers

a3 coilies wont fit a VRS.. the drop link set up is all different. the thing your on about i have no idea what you mean. Pics?

a3 coilovers probably have the drop link mount on them so they probably will physically fit, but they are not right for the car in terms of weight etc, the vrs is fussy in terms of suspension and fitting another cars setup is not a great idea imo

Possible OET. tho the coilies on my bora came off my Audi.. i was going to fit them to the Octy and they do not have the attachment. This is why mk4 golf coils dont fit a VRS as they are the same as a A3 and you have to spend a fortune on coilovers to slam a vRS.

i guess it depends on the make, i think a lot of the manufacturers make a generic body, then fit the dampner to suit the vehicle, have seen coilovers on a mk4 before with the droplink mount not being used, either way, they aren't right for the vrs.
