Just a quick one as there is some confusion on if and when the oil needs changing on the 4x4 and Scout Haldex system.

In the UK it is every 40,000 miles, no time interval.

Differing quotes though from local Skoda dealers ranging from £65 to £140.

What about filter?

No mention of the filter. I'm booking it in next week and enquire...

The Haldex 4 needs an oil change only. Earlier versions of the Haldex have a filter which also needs changing. There is a thread about this on the Yeti forum.

I don't think my 2008 (08) Scout has the latest version of the Haldex (generation 4) so I'll enquire when I book it in to ask if there is a filter on my car.

I had to spell H-A-L-D-E-X over the phone to the lady at DM Keith in York. If they don't even know what it is then there is no way they are going anywhere near it with a spanner! And she had to ring me back with a price - which was £138. FAIL!

Pulman Skoda in Durham were top notch, she knew what Haldex was, knew that the interval was 40,000 miles (without having to ask someone) and quoted me £65. PASS!
