Rear view in heavy rain.

Featured Replies

Looked closely at the problem of rain streaming round the A post and obscuring vision through the glass and rear view mirror. It seems to me that as the w/s wiper is vertical at the end of it's stroke on driver's side, excess water is trying to drain through the 4 small slots in the plastic scuttle. A hose placed on the roof/windscreen with the wipers on full seemed to support this theory. This morning I have drilled a 9mm hole through said scuttle about 5mm toward the screen and in line with 2nd slot from the wiper. I felt around through the slot with a bent paper clip first to establish there is sufficient clearance under the scuttle.

The hose test was much improved after, but now awaiting heavy rain to be sure the problem is cured.

I'll come back and report after the drought which will now ensue.

One or two photos would be great :sun:
