Please help with window wiring loom

Featured Replies

I purchased a window wiring loom part number 1u0971121be for my 2000 Octavia and when i fiited it the part that goes into the door switches was a different fitting. Is there any way I can adapt this for my car with the old wiring or do I need a different loom. I was on Vagcat and the part number should fit my car. Were did i go wrong

Does your car have rear electric windows? It may be the loom has the wiring for it, but your car doesn't have them, or the other way round.

Yes my car has rear electric windows

May be that the loom doesn't have the wiring for the rear window swicthes then. Does the plug that goes into the door switch panel have the same number of wires as the old one?

Is your car pre or post face lift? That could be the problem either the car or the part?

Wasn't some of the early face lifted cars built with pre face lift parts or vice versa?

I would have thought the wiring would be the same though. I know the dashboard has changed, but he doors should be the same though.

God knows VW change stuff just for the sake of it sometimes. I'm sure I've come across different electrics for pre and post face lift in the haynes manual
