Joined back in Jan to keep an eye on my mate Steve954 :hi: After driving his car back then I was very impressed with the overall package, so I ended up buying one myself!

One family owner, 15 stamps in the book, done 121k and drives exceptional, very well maintained and straight car which was only 35 miles from me, how could i resist?

I plan to do similar, subtle mods but keep the car as original as I can. Handling needs improving and it is desperate for a remap but all in good time, its still a very pleasant drive.

Hello kidders, motor looks well B)

Welcome Aboard!

Welcome mate.

What tyres does it have on it?

Just surprised the handling isn't great. Mine handled very well as standard. I kept with conty sports that it came from the dealer with. Performed brilliantly on bends on them.

Avon ZZ3's, although coming from ST220 on eibachs and a Fiesta Zetec S it has alot to live up to, i've not really pushed it yet but it does lack some feel in comparison.

Hi and welcome aboard.

Car looks nice, Red one very rare!

Welcome buddy.

The question is what cars are you used to? The cars me and kidders have owned and the way we drive means the octavia is lacking slightly and especially on 121k shocks!

True but im used to scoobies and they handle Brilliantly. I could push the octy very hard before the back end would tweek. I admit mine was only 2 yrs old and 30k

Handling is subjective, grip is just one factor in how a car handles, i'm sure the outright grip is fine but the feel and feedback from the wheel doesnt compare to the Fords, and despite being lighter than the Mondeo it doesnt feel as nimble, on the plus side the ride quality/bump absorbtion is good, and with some minor tweaks like poly bushes, anti roll on the rear and S3 strutbrace i'm sure it will tighten up, having done so many miles and being 11 years old wont help either, but my 02 Fiesta ZS has done nearly as many miles and still feels fresh.

I'm impressed with the build quality, no creaks or rattles, and the general condition of the components like under the engine bay, no oil leaks, no perished pipes (already check the breather pipes  ) It has huge potential and I'm looking forward to improving it.
