I doubt anybody will have an answer for me but it would save me a lot of time if anyone could help, I need to know the size/ thickness of the 1.4 tdi exhaust just behind the backbox anyone who knows this would be a great help! Thanks

I take it you mean just in front of the backbox (i.e. the other side from the tailpipe).

When you split the exhaust, it takes a 50mm joint clip so the pipe upstream of the backbox is 50mm.

I believe so, it's because I have just bought a vrs exhaust and plan on cutting the old one and replacing it with the vrs backbox and tip so it looks smarter with the vrs back bumper I have, I believe the vrs is 57mm so I would need a reducer

The VRS takes a 55mm joint clip

So if I were to get a stainless sleeve made at 55mm down to 50mm with slits in each side and clamps I shouldn't have a problem?

What I would do is get the 50mm jointing clamp. Then give the clamp and the VRS exhaust to whoever is doing the job and ask them to make a adapter.

If you use the OEM clamp, cut the exhaust at the marked position and then get the VRS exhaust/clamp to match up, it means you can always fit a standard rear exhaust.
