Similar circumstances and I just renewed mine with quote me happy for £210 incl legal and protected NCB and only£200 excess. My previous insurer wanted double that. May be worth a look ?

thanks for the reply will defo try it.Had the car nearly 6yrs so defo wanna keep it

£182 fully comp. 9 years NCD. 37 years old with no claims or convictions. Biggest plus for me is police advanced driving certificate and IAM membership.

Insured through Hastings.

Things to ditch are legal cover, a no win no fee solicitor will be just as good if it wasn't your fault.

Courtesy car cover. Hire one and claim it back if you can or get the train/bus/cycle in the rare event your car is damaged.

Some bodyshops give you a courtesy car regardless of whether it's on your policy or not cos they're happy for the business and want to look professional.

Quotemehappy were the best for me. However, can't get anything like the quotes above, despite having very similar circumstances to those Metblackrat describes.

Sept last yr I paid 322 with LvE, I thought that was pretty good at the time, fully comp / protected NCD (40yrs old and 8yrs NCD) but looking at some of the cheap quotes above maybe I will have ti shop around more this year!

I am also with quote me happy, £202 fully comp protected. I am 40, with car on drive.

It is quite funny as my mrs is £189 for a ahyundai i10 !
