hi all- battery just went flat on my 1.3 MPi felicia, with no warning light....i mean, the battery-warning light on the dash isnt working at all, with the ignition on while all the other warning lights are coming on as per normal. - there is zero charge getting to the battery. - i have a spare altenator i can put in, but before i start, has anybody else had this happen? - i've checked all the fuses (there doesn't seem to be one designated to the charging system, but checked them all anyway.) - all the connections to the alternater seem to be ok, and the regulator is pretty new ( less than 10k miles) - there are no other symtoms other than zero charge, everything else seems to be fine- many thanks in advance.

BLOODY VOLTAGE REGULATOR!! - turns out the warning light connection at the alternator was corroded,, so no warning light on the dash...its amazing how you DON'T notice when the light doesn't come on...!! - anyway, popped in a different reg and bobs your uncle...14.5 volts. - might be something to be aware of, make sure your battery light is functioning and save yourself a 2 hour wait for a breakdown-truck from Tipperary...it IS long way, after all! - many thanks Masster for your prompt reply.

Lots of alternators require the warning bulb to be working to get the whole system working
