Apparent automatic gearbox problems

Featured Replies

just know while driving i stoped at a traffic light, when i pulled off i heard a screach and jolted forward a i heard a loud bang, some sort of knock  not to sure what thats about everytime i stop now i hear it, called my dealer they told me that they can't look at it until the next couple of weeks as they are all booked up.

Get yourself into a dealer, a different one if you have to. I would not wait just coz it's not the kind of noise you should ignore.

Alternatively give the AA a buzz on their free advise line, you should be able to use AA services (via the number Skoda gives you) and hopefully they can recommend something

It doesn't sound as if you should be driving the car until it has been looked at. Do you have the Automobile Association in Trinidad and Tobago yet? :(

we have an AA down here only i'm not a member. i have a cousin who is a mechanic so i had him take a look as there is only one skoda dealer down here, apparently my engine mount rubber is busted. i will call the dealer and get a price for it later today, so for the while i'm taking a taxi until i get it sorted out, and man that feels strange can't tell when last i took one.

At least that is good news - and it won't be expensive to fix.

unfortunately the local dealer does not have any engine mounts in stock, however they told me that they can order it and have it here in six weeks, which is way to long for me to wait. i called my cousin and asked him if he knew any where else that i can get them as my dealer did not want to give me the part number so i can try get it from an audi or vw dealer. he told me that i can have it made from a higher quality material than what is supplied from most replacement manufactures at a fraction of the cost. so this weekend i will go see about that and just hope it solves the problem, though i will still more than likely get the original thing from the dealer i will be alot more comfortable with that.

i can't help but wonder that may have caused engine mounts to go bad in the first place.
