bye for now...........................

Hi All

Thought I'd pop in and say goodbye - the Roomster is being traded in soon (swopped for a Yeti).

It is a 1.6 CR 105 BHP SE+ and has covered just under 10K miles. In that time nothing has gone wrong. The rear tyres look virtually "as new" and the fronts are down to approximately 4mm. The car has used around half of the 1 litre of oil supplied when it was new.

The best bits were the panoramic roof and MDI. The worst bits were the less than impressive fuel economy (despite trying all sorts of different fuels and driving styles - Fuelly link below) and lack of lumbar support on the drivers seat. Other than that it did exactly "what it said on the tin" and made an ideal smaller famly car.

Incidentally this was my second Roomster. The first was a 2007 1.9 TDi 105 BHP. This returned slightly better fuel economy from new (~50 mpg) compared with the newer CR engine and once remapped by Revo, went pretty well too.

Enjoy the Yeti, yes Id be pretty fed up with your economy too.... glad mines a good deal better.

all the best mate ive looked at the yeti nice car hope it goes ok for you pete

Like the yeti as well and if i ditched my Roomster would probably go for it unless i could afford the Octavia VRS.

Luckily mine has performed well in MPG and hope to wear it out over a loong time.

just under 7K miles now in the Yeti (2.0 TDi 110) and virtually identical fuel economy to the Roomster ~46mpg average!

The 2.0 CR is a much nicer engine than the 1.6 though!! It pulls cleanly from lower revs than the 1.6 and is noticeably quieter and smoother. It also feels more powerful, despite very similar output 110BHP vs 105 BHP & identical torque.
