Ice on a financed car

Featured Replies

Ok, i wanna put a sub and amp in my vrs but how will this effect me as my car is on finance????

Am i allowed to mod it or do i have to wait 3 yrs before I can touch it?

Thanks

I'm not aware of any legal implications.

If you pay up front for the ICE kit, then it's yours and you do what you want with it. And I've never heard of an HPA'd car which cannot have ICE installed as part of the T&Cs becuase it is on HPA.

I'd just read through the terms of your finance agreement. As long as they're OK and the insurance company doesn't object either, you can go ahead :)

Hmmm really wanna do this but want some more oppinions

its two totaly seprate things...you agreement with the finance people is for a set amount of money eg 10K at 200 a month...as long as that is paid they couldn't careless what you do to the car...if you dont have GAP insuance they coudlnt careless if you wrote it off...they are just bothered about the money you ow them

only thing you want to watch for is the warrenty becomming void and your insurance, usally only done by replacing engine parts consult who you purchased it from for details on this dealers vairy from place to place, same goes for insurance, for engine mods you will find you have to pay a premium.

An easy way to get around this problem, might be to get a personal loan (often at a better rate than HP) and then the car will become yours to do with what you wish.

 (its what I did after about a year of HP)

if you've bought it as your car (not a rent)....you do what you want to it, as long as u inform the insurance company where needed, but you'll probably find that your insurance company dont actually care what stereo you have in there as long as its below the amount they cover
